Dating Feng Shui

by Anika Logan July 05, 2005

So you're single but searching for love? Do you want to find a relationship that works but need some help in that area? Look to the practice of Feng Shui (pronounced "fung schway") for some simple cures to ail your relationship woes and get you back on track. According to Feng Shui experts, where romance is concerned, small changes can make a big difference.

Definition of Feng Shui

Taken literally, Feng Shui means ‘wind and water.’ Also known as the art of placement, the Chinese have been a proponent of the practice for centuries. They have long observed that it is possible to deliberately arrange your belongings in your immediate surroundings in order to gain positive results. The goal is to achieve greater happiness, success and harmony in one’s life. Feng Shui is about the natural energies of cause and effect and the belief that everything is connected. Those who take the time to learn about Feng Shui and incorporate it into their lives are able to live a more peaceful and balanced life than those who do not.

Is it possible to apply the principles of Feng Shui to the complicated world of relationships? Yes and no.

At its root Feng Shui can be applied to the spaces you occupy but not to yourself or other people in general. On the “no” side there is no one element of Feng Shui that will automatically improve your relationships. On the “yes” side, Feng Shui is all about balancing one’s environment so that benefits can be reaped from it. The result of all of this is that your relationships might flow better. By balancing your space and making it “Feng Shui friendly” you will absorb the improved energy from the changes in your environment and therefore notice a positive difference in your relationships.

So what is the single person to do? Think relationship corner.

All homes have a relationship corner. Walk in the front door to the rear of your home, then take a right. You’re now standing in your relationship corner. And another important relationship area is your bedroom, no matter where it is situated in your home. Look to your bedroom to help you attract the greater love energy you are seeking.
