by Mary M. Alward August 25, 2005

For a fun vacation, head out to the Grayland/Westport area of Washington State. Stay in a fantasy cabin, watch elk free-grazing, see oyster beds, scuba dive, fish, explore nature trails, bicycle and much more. This is an area that is filled with fun things to do and see.

Washington State is beautiful and there are so many things to do and see. If you are going to be vacationing here, be sure to visit the Grayland/Westport area for a delightful experience. Here are a few things that you might enjoy.

Accommodations

The latest trend in holiday accommodations is fantasy cabins. Though a variety can be found world wide, Washington State offers a wide variety of option where you can enjoy a family vacation, a romantic weekend getaway, or a second honeymoon.

Shipwreck at Taboo Lagoon

This fantasy cabin is great for either a second honeymoon or a romantic getaway. The structure is a bamboo hut that is decorated in shipwreck and deserted island décor. The kitchen is small and includes a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and barbecue. The bath is a pool beneath an exquisite waterfall. Shipwreck at Taboo Lagoon sleeps two.

Goldilocks and 300 Bears

We all loved the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as children. At this unique holiday accommodation, you will be sharing your living space with 300 of the endearing creatures. Be sure to track them all down during your stay.

A microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker can be found in the small kitchen. Throw a steak on the barbecue for a delicious meal. The deck is covered so you can sit outside well protected from the sun, or relax as a gentle rain is falling. Be sure to have a fun game of chess on the eight foot square chess board. The pieces are none other than bears that have been handcrafted from wood.

Sleeping quarters include a queen sized hand carved bed that includes a full size trundle bed. Goldilocks and the 300 bears sleep two to four people. The cabin is a delightful place to stay and will be enjoyed by both the young and the young at heart.

Jungle Treehouse Cabin

Remember the adventure book Swiss Family Robinson. Every kid read it. Well, not you can stay in a jungle treehouse just like the one that the Robinson family occupied. The handcrafted furniture and hand painted wall décor are all jungle themed. Relax on the covered porch and sleep in the “jungle bedroom” that is beautifully decorated. The “treehouse bedroom” is perfect for children of all ages. They will love climbing into the treehouse for a good night’s sleep or to pass their time playing. The accommodation is cozy and comfortable.
