Are there other causes of hyponatremia?

Yes. There is a condition called polydipsia where a person will consume large amounts of water when it is not needed. It is associated with several mental health problems, among them obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and personality disorders. Many with schizophrenia also drink large amounts of water. Mental health professionals don't know why these problems cause unusual water consumption.
