How to Unclog The Bathtub Drain

by Emma Zerner July 28, 2005

Easy Rules To Remember and Follow in Order to Prevent Clogs

If you notice that water is getting slower as it goes down the drain, try to deal with it then.  The longer you wait, the worse the clog will get, so don't ignore the problem.  Instead, use the tweezers, etc. to see if you  can extract the problem, use the baking soda and vinegar mixture, or some chemical product that is designed to de-clog drains.  The problem will only get worse, and you may have to call in a professional to snake the drain.

Call a Professional

If you are unable to unclog the drain yourself, you may have to call a professional to snake the drain, and remove the entire clog from the drain.  Alert them as to what methods you have used, in addition to any chemicals implemented in the process, in order to prevent a possibly hazardous. situation.
