Old Jail Bed and Breakfast

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in solitary confinement? Well, now you can find out. This highly unique Bed and Breakfast offers lots of privacy and its historical setting is made up of the former Taylor Falls Jail that was built in 1884, along with the Schotmuller House, established in 1869. Each room has a kitchen, private bath and entrance. The Jail Cottage has a loft bedroom, a wood burning fireplace and iron bars on the windows.

The Overlook offers panoramic views of the St. Croix River Valley and is built on top of The Cave, which was a saloon in the good old days. It features a striking stone archway that leads to the private bath.

Each morning, breakfast is brought right to your door, just as it would be in jail. Service is terrific and staff is friendly. This is a great vacation retreat for the entire family.

The Old Jail Bed and Breakfast is located at 349 Government Street, Taylor Fall, Minnesota 55084. The Jail can be contacted by phone at 651-465-3112

M.V. Challenger Bunk Bed and Breakfast

This unique Bed and Breakfast is located on a 98 foot tugboat that is moored in Lake Union, Seattle, Washington. It consists of eight rooms that range from small to very small. The largest rooms are the Captain’s and Admiral’s Cabins, which have TVs, VCRs, private baths, refrigerators and views of downtown Seattle.

A full breakfast is served each morning in the galley and the rooms are decorated with old nautical charts and ship’s clocks. Potholes offer a magnificent view of Lake Union and the surrounding area.

If you suffer from claustrophobia, this Bed and Breakfast is not your style. Bathrooms have barely enough room to turn around and steep stairs are a part of the experience. However, when you go on deck for some rest and relaxation at the end of the day, the views and spectacular sunsets are breathtaking.
