Life changes and the way you think changes, so it should be no surprise that your goals will change too. Every month – I do this at the beginning of the month, but of course it could be any time, as long as it’s regular – I take out my goal lists and read through them. Sometimes nothing’s changed, but just reading them refreshes them in my mind and keeps me focused on what I really want to do. Often, however, I want to revise my goals and adjust the tasks accordingly. For example, where I’m living now, the swimming pool closes over summer, so I need to find some alternative way to exercise; or maybe in the future I’ll decide that Chinese would be more useful to learn than French, and I’ll change my language learning goals.
Don’t Put It Off!
You want to have the best life you can, right? So start now. Not tomorrow! If you find yourself thinking, “Yes, goal setting, it’s a good idea, I should do that …” then stop. Don’t think about it. Get your notepad and pen or open a new document, and begin to goal-set your way to that best life.
