E-Learning: Firsthand Experience

by Delo White May 23, 2005

Conclusion

As I experienced taking online classes for the first time, it was easy and allowed me to choose the pace and time that I studied, allowed me to communicate with fellow students, instructors, and to take tests with relative ease. The few problems occurred due to technical matters that were quickly resolved. Other problems were caused by communication problems between people.

While E-learning will continue growing in popularity it will not replace the traditional school environment. Not all answers can be found online. Other factors such as group interaction and students with problems that can only be solved by interacting with instructors, will require the traditional mode of education.

As the technology becomes more affordable and wireless communication grows, more schools will be eager to participate in online education. Still, a student must be highly disciplined, motivated, and committed to performing at his/her best. For this type of study is as much or maybe more demanding than the traditional classroom.
