A Common Sense Approach to Purchasing Software

by Kathy Gentile June 10, 2005

Final Thoughts as a Software Consumer

Search engines are another way to find additional freeware, shareware, and demo software; just type in those key words to start your hunt. If you own existing software, many times, companies offer program upgrades or add-ons free of charge. The best way to find out is by opening the program. Then, check for an update button (or link) under the Help menu option. You can also visit the software company’s main site for additional information on free upgrades or add-ons or contact support with a request for them. As a software consumer, don’t be in a rush. Research the market, and try before you buy. You will be pleasantly surprised how much time and money you can actually save when using some common sense!
