Ad Hoc Protocol List An Ad hoc protocol is a convention or standard that controls or enables the connection, communication, and data transfer between computing devices in a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET).
(The following page provides information on Ad hoc protocols implementations)
Note that in a wider context, an ad hoc protocol can also mean an improvised and often impromptu protocol established for a particular specific purpose.

Ad Hoc Ad hoc is a Latin phrase which means "for this [purpose]." It generally signifies a solution that has been tailored to a specific purpose, such as a tailor-made suit, a handcrafted network protocol or a specific-purpose equation. It can also refer to an improvised and often impromptu event or solution "on an ad-hoc basis".

Temporary Ad Hoc Rainbow Coalition "Temporary ad hoc rainbow coalition" is the official term used by the Liberal Party of Canada to refer to the group of MP's who founded the Bloc Québécois. It is used primarily in reference to Jean Lapierre, who was once part of that group but has since renounced seperatism and rejoined the Liberals under Paul Martin. The term has been repeatedly attacked in a humorous way in Canadian political blogging circles, and is often cited when making jokes about Jean Lapierre, or when claiming that the Liberal party misrepresents the truth.
