Child development:
There are different developmental domains of children:

2. Perception and Sensory Development - how one functions using the senses and the ability to process the information gained.
Special Education Special education (Also known as Special ed, SPED or defectology) refers euphemistically to the teaching of students with a learning disability, a Developmental disability or a behavioral problem, or to that of gifted children. This article will focus mainly on the teaching of students with disabilities; see Gifted education for more information on that subject. Services (such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, etc) are provided within the mainstream class (ie. inclusion) or in a separate classroom if this is decided to be the least restrictive environment. Students receive individualized services to meet their goals, and these services are outlined in each child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Federally, students who reach the age of 16 will also need an Individual Transition Plan (ITP). The ITP focuses on the learners goals for the future, addressing living and employment.
Early Childhood Education Act The Early Childhood Education Act is the name of various landmark laws passed by the United States Congress outlining federal programs and funding for childhood education from pre-school through kindergarten. The first such act was introduced in the United States House of Representatives by Congresswoman Patsy Mink of Hawaii in the 1960s.

Geography And Early Childhood Education Geography while not seen to be as central as basic skills such as mathematics, and language skills is an important part of early childhood education. Geography is a large and complex subject. For students it is generally divided into sub-sections such as physical geography, human geography, cultural geography, and political geography. All of these areas play an important role in the understanding of how people interact with others, the environment and how things interact with the human race.
